Utah, is one of the few states that is fortunate enough to offer the best of all worlds to its tourists as well as year round residents. During the hot summer months, you have the option of hiking, biking, fishing and camping. In the winter months, you can enjoy activities such as cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowmobiling, and even ice fishing.

Park City, Utah brings in most of its revenue, from is year round tourism. On the average, the number of tourist that visit Park City annually greatly exceeds the number of permanent residents. After the closing of the Mines in Park City, most of the towns year round residents were forced to move to find work. Park City offers 3 major ski resorts for its tourists to choose from. Those three include Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort, and The Canyons Resort. Park City, was really put on the map in 2002, when it welcomed the Winter Olympic Games.

Salt Lake City, Utah, is the Capital City of Utah. The city was founded in 1847 and because of how close it is to the Great Salt Lake, the city was originally named “Great Salt Lake City” and in 1868, that was changed to just “Salt Lake City”.

Arches National Park, is located in Eastern Utah, and is made up of just over 76,500 acres. This National Park is known for it’s over 2000 natural and unique sandstone arches. The National Park Service at first considered the area to be a National Monument on April 12, 1929. It was reconsidered as a National Park on November 12, 1971.

Bryce Canyon is actually considered to be an amphitheater and not a canyon even though it is named Bryce Canyon. Bryce Canyon sits overlooking Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon. This area was designated to be a National Monument in 1923 and then a National Park in 1928. Bryce Canyon sits on 56 acres and due to its location, is not visited as frequently as some of the larger parks.

Moab, Utah, has become more and more of a tourist spot as well as a great spot for those considering moving to Utah. Moab is known for its very mild winters and absolutely amazing summers. Moab is a town built for all different kinds of miners, offering several different things available in its mines.

Lake Powell is a reservoir on the Colorado River, with its border running between Utah and Arizona. It is considered to be the second largest man-made reservoir in the United States, with Lake Mead following close behind.



Zion National Park is located near Springdale, Utah. Zion National Park, is 229 square miles, and is home to Zion Canyon, which is 15 miles long and up to half a mile deep. Traveling into the area before it was claimed as a national park was rare due to its remote location, lack of accommodations, and the fact that there were no real roads at this point in Southern Utah. Utah is a great vacation spot for everyone.
