The best Block Party and More – Street Scene San Diego’s Music Festival

San Diego is a great place to visit. It is a beautiful city with unbelieveable great temperatures year round. It has so much to see and do. It is great for any stage of life. A great time to come would be during August 2012 Street Scene, San Diego’s music festival. It is one of America’s largest music festivals, hosting 70 different bands on several different stages. It is a fun filled day with excitment and good music, covering a broad range of different styles. So there is something for everyone. It started in 1984 and has grown from one street to two blocks.

The Street Scene celebrated there 25th year in 2009 and are hoping to still be going strong in 2012. Back in 2009 the Street Scene featured a wide array of music. The most popular bands that played there were Black Eyed Peas, Modest Mouse, Cake and other great bands on the first day. And on the second day they featured M.I.A., Public Enemy and many other rocking bands. Along with this incredible two day festival there is plenty of other great sight seeing advertures to accomplish while you visit. You almost couldn’t get it all done in one vacation.

If you have a younger group, or you are young at heart there is Disney Land, Lego Land, and Sea World. If you are interested in animals there is the Zoo along with the Animal Life Preserve. If you like to people watch Hollywood is just an hour’s drive, along with the plentiful beaches not far from anywhere you want to stay. The sunsets are simlpy amazing on the West coastline. Shopping is very plentiful in San Diego.

The Gaslamp district is a fun street with a ton of restaurants, and plenty of shopping with stores open late, you will have plenty of time to shop. There are also two baseball teams to go watch, the Dodgers in LA, and the Padres at Petco Park, near where the Street Scene music festival will take place. San Diego is truly America’s favorite place to vacation. You will want to come back again and again.
